Who We Are
Andrenes Soul Food is a Washington D.C.-based culinary platform dedicated to preserving and sharing authentic soul food tradition. We are three full-time team members and a network of contributors who care deeply about food, culture, and community.
We work remotely and asynchronously. We value directness, craft, and a genuine love for what we are building. Every person on this team has a real voice in the work.
Open Positions
Recipe Developer (Part-Time / Contract)
We are looking for an experienced home cook or trained chef with deep knowledge of Southern and soul food tradition to help test, refine, and write new recipes for our monthly drops. You will work closely with our culinary director and receive full attribution.
- 3+ years cooking soul food at home or professionally
- Ability to write clear, accurate recipe instructions
- Comfortable testing recipes multiple times for accuracy
- Strong understanding of Southern culinary tradition
Food Photographer & Videographer
We are seeking a talented visual storyteller to photograph and film our recipe content. You will bring our dishes to life in ways that make people want to cook immediately. Must have a portfolio demonstrating natural light food photography.
- Portfolio of food photography (required)
- Experience with short-form video for social media
- Own professional camera equipment
- Based in or able to travel to Washington D.C.
Customer Experience Lead
Our first dedicated customer experience hire. You will own subscriber communication, handle billing inquiries, resolve issues, and help shape our support culture from the ground up. This role reports directly to the founder.
- 2+ years in customer support, ideally for a subscription product
- Empathetic communicator with strong writing skills
- Comfortable with Stripe, Gmail, and basic CRM tools
- Passionate about food and culture
